Dr Fayyaz said the soil and climate in the Upper Dir were favourable for the plantation of olive. Other experts urged the farmers to plant olive as it was very expensive. The speakers said the farmers should also grow various types of vegetables and crops as the land of Upper Dir was very rich and fertile for agriculture.
They said that farmers did not follow proper methods of agriculture and so they could not get a good amount of produce. The experts urged the farmers to shun the primitive methods of farming and adopt modern techniques in order to increase crop yield.
