PESHAWAR: A five-member gang of mobile phone snatchers was busted by the police.
A statement said that 26 snatched cellular phones, arms and motorcycles were recovered from the accused, including Farhanullah of Gulbahar area, Muhammad Jalal of Bashirabad locality, Rasool Jan of Charsadda Road and Naveed, a resident of Kaka Sahib in Nowshera district. After receiving complaints, a special squad was formed by CCPO Qazi Jamil. The mobile phones were being smuggled to Afghanistan. It said the gang of phone snatchers was arrested during a drive against street crimes in the city, in which the police in civvies were deployed in various points of the city.
