Two die in road accidents

LAHORE :Two men were killed in road accidents in different parts of the City on Thursday. A bike rider was killed by a speeding bus in the Kahna area. Victim Mahmood of Pandoki was on his way when a rashly-driven bus hit and killed him. The bus driver sped away from the scene.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and his wife injured by a rashly driven tractor-trolley in the Sundar area. The deceased was identified as Asghar. The accused driver escaped after leaving his vehicle behind. The injured woman has been admitted to hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.

Body found: A 50-year-old man was found dead in the Sanda police jurisdiction on Thursday. Locals spotted the body in Rewaz Garden and informed the police. The deceased was identified as Nazeer. The body has been removed to morgue.

Boy abused: A 12-year-old boy was allegedly abused by a man in the Hunjarwal area on Thursday. The accused identified as Ashraf abused the boy, resident of Jutt Chowk, Hunjarwal. The victim has been removed to hospital.

police performance: The DIG Operations has warned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against the SDPOs and SHOs concerned on their failure to ensure implementation of the Kite Flying Act.

Chairing a crime control meeting of the City division police on Thursday, the DIG reviewed the monthly performance of all the SDPOs and SHOs and declared the performance of the City division police unsatisfactory. He declared the performance of Islampura circle police was the poorest. He warned that strict action would be taken on failure to implement the Loudspeaker Act.

Moreover, the DIG Operations, Lahore, also visited the newly constructed building of Badami Bagh police station. The police station would start to use the new building in the current month.
