MULTAN: Pakistan Railways Multan Division is going to resume Thal Express between Multan and Rawalpindi from Wednesday (tomorrow) on regular basis, said the PR officials.
Pakistan Railway had suspended the train service in 2008 due to financial losses and the shortage of locomotives. The train was running under the popular titles of Mehr Express and Attaullah Express.
Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to inaugurate the Thal Express on Tuesday (today). The fast train would reduce at least three hours travel time between Multan and Rawalpindi, said the PR office at Multan. The Thal Express would run between Rawalpindi and Multan via Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Bhakkar, Kundian and Mianwali.
