LAHORE
Ameer of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI), Maulana Samiul Haq said if the rulers over the last 60 years had enforced the Islamic ideology of Pakistan in letter and spirit, the country would neither have been beset with terrorism, bloodshed and economic crisis, nor there had been any need to launch military operations against its own citizens.
“Use of military power and violence had never been the means to solve political problems in any Muslim country and it will never solve problems faced by Pakistan,” he said while addressing a seminar titled “Responsibilities of Ulema In the Present Times” under JUI-S Lahore here Saturday. It was also addressed by JUI-S secretary general Maulana Abdul Rauf Farooqi, Maulana Makhdoom Manzoor, Maulana Yusuf Shah, Zaheeruddin Babar, Maulana Asim Makhdoom, Maulana Abdul Rab Amjad, Maulana Azam Hussain and Maulana Ahmad Ali Sani.
Maulana Samiul Haq expressed sorrow that while the country was facing challenges, the rulers were busy with foreign tours with a beggars bowl at the expense of hard-earned public money. He urged upon the countrymen to get united by sinking petty differences and rise above schools of thought to counter the enemies of Islam who had got united to crush Muslims.
He said Ulema should present the true picture of Islam and propagate the Islamic principles and tenets which had been disfigured by enemy propaganda on the media.
