Suspected criminal killed in police encounter

An alleged criminal was killed in an encounter with police near Super Highway Industrial Area police limits on Tuesday.
During a patrol near Janjal Goth in Gulshan-e-Maymar, police signalled three suspicious men on a motorcycle, but they tried to speed away.
When the police gave a chase, the motorcyclists opened fire. In retaliation, the law enforcers killed a man, while his two accomplices managed to flee. The body of the deceased was later shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Police claimed that they seized two TT pistol, a hand grenade and a stolen motorcycle after the shootout.
