LAHORE
The weather in the provincial metropolis is expected to stay hot and dry, however dust-raising winds and scattered drizzles over the next 48 hours are also a possibility courtesy a trough of westerly weather system prevailing over western parts of the country and likely to affect different parts of the country during next three to four days.
Met Office too has predicted scattered rain-thundershowers with dust storms in the country during next 4-5 days.
This westerly weather system entered the country on Saturday and is expected to prevail in the country till mid of the coming week.
Under the influence of this weather system rain-thundershowers associated with dust-storms are predicted in Islamabad, Punjab (Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sahiwal and Lahore divisions), Fata, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar, Kohat, Malakand, Mardan, Hazara, Dera IsmaeI Khan and Bannu divisions), Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kallat, Sibbi and Nasirabad divisions), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Saturday to Wednesday with occasional gaps.
Dust-thundershowers are also expected at isolated places in Sindh (Mirpur Khas, Sukkur and Larkana divisions) on Saturday and again on Monday/Tuesday.
This system had already caused 8 mm rain at Garhi Dupatta, 7 mm at Lasbela, 06 mm at Parachinar, Rohri, Drosh, Rawalakot, 03 mm at Muzaffarabad, Malamjabba, Mirkhani, Pattan, Islamabad, Barkhan, 02 mm at Chitral, Gupis, Dir and 01 mm rain at Kotli and Quetta.
The maximum temperature in the city on Saturday was recorded as 41 degree Celsius while the minimum was 26 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature across the country was 46 degree Celsius at Dadu.
