Appeal for help

PESHAWAR: The father of a child, who has been suffering from a chronic disease, has appealed to the government, philanthropists and well-off people to help him in treatment of his ailing son.
Ziarat Gul, a resident of the Maryamzai village in the Mattani and father of Mustafa Kamal (9), said that his son had been suffering from Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, also known as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, is the most common type of arthritis in children under the age of 17. The disease causes persistent joint pain, swelling and stiffness.
Ziarat Gul said his son had been suffering from the disease for the last more than five years. He said that he is a watchman at the Population Welfare Department and cannot afford the expensive treatment. “My salary is just Rs18,000 per month and cannot afford the costly treatment,” he added.
Ziarat Gul said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had taken notice on his application and forwarded it to the Zakat and Ushr department.“But the department said that I am a government employee and thus cannot be given any assistance under the law,” he lamented.Those wishing to help the family can approach Ziarat Gul at cell phone 0300-8588288.
