Two men were shot dead by unidentified armed assailants in separate incidents in the city on Monday.
Forty-year-old Abdul Waheed, son of Muhammad Rasheed, a contractor by profession, was outside his house in Sector-5, Paposh Nagar area of Nazimabad when two men on a motorcycle shot at him and escaped. A passerby, Ahmed Ali, was also injured, while Abdul Waheed died on spot.
DSP Afaq Ahmed said it was clearly an act of target killing but added that initial investigations indicated towards a personal enmity.
In Quaidabad, 25-year-old Arif Khan, a textile mill worker, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen. The victim was returning home from the mill when he was shot twice in the chest. He was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police said the family of the deceased nominated unidentified assailants in a FIR lodged at the Quaidabad police station.
