Perhaps for the first time in the history of our politics no objections have been raised from any quarter over transparency in the recently concluded cantonment board elections throughout the country. The credit goes to the PTI. In a way we can say that Imran Khan has succeeded in mobilising public opinion against unfair means in elections. The days are not far when general elections will also be held in the same spirit as we witness in India.
This serves is a good omen for us and will be helpful in the peaceful transfer of power as well. Moreover, the ongoing proceedings against alleged rigging in the last general elections in the judicial commission would place things on a right course. The nation has for the first time been made to realise the power of their vote.
