Taxed dollars

This refers to the news report, ‘FBR proposes withdrawal of tax incentive on remittances’ (April 3). The proposed tax would revive the previous practice of hundi and no expatriate would send money through proper channels, depriving the country of foreign exchange.
If the government wants to curb money laundering then it should end corruption. Taxation measures will scare away dollars. Why does the government want to tax poor, hard-working Pakistani expatriates?
