PESHAWAR: The police claimed to have arrested five robbers and seized looted amount from them in the limits of Gandigar Police Station in Upper Dir district on Friday night.
Talking to The News, District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Israruddin Bacha said that the police were tipped off that five robbers were looting the passengers at Osherai Darra.
He said that the police party headed by Station House Officer Shaukat Khan reached the spot and arrested the robbers. He said that the arrested robbers were identified as Bacha Hussain, Adnan, Ahmed Hussain, Muhammad Nasir and Nabiullah and seized four pistols, eight magazines, 82 cartridges and Rs16,000 and 1,000 Saudi Riyals from their possession. DPO said that the robbers were recently released on bail in a robbery case in Nowshera district.
