Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said the Punjab government is taking all the measures to provide a quality education, including the provision of missing facilities, to the schools and training to the teachers. School enrollment is gradually increasing under the programme of “Parho Punjab Barho Punjab”.
Contribution of British Council and Department for International Development (DFID) to achieve the Millennium Development Goals is praiseworthy.
He expressed these views while talking to the delegation of British Council at the luncheon, according to a handout issued on Wednesday. Chief Financial Officer Caroline Stockmann, Regional Director for Africa Mandy Johnson, Director for Nigeria Connie Price, Director for Pakistan Peter Upton, Area Director Punjab Kevin Mclaven, Director (PEELI) Tony Fisher and Project Manager Higher Education and Skills Muhammad Ali included in the delegation.
The minister informed the delegation of different initiatives taken by the Punjab government for promotion of education.
He said both curricular and extracurricular activities were being arranged to augment the creative skills of the students.
International records made during the sports festival is a testimony of the ability of Pakistani students.
He said the government was planning to build a science museum for children and cooperation of the British Council in this regard would be welcomed.
