We have long been dependent upon Saudi Arabia and the UAE for aid and investment. Our dependence covers not only the financial assistance doled out on different occasions but a large number of Pakistanis are also working in these countries and sending billions of dollars back home. Moreover, our politicians/dictators often find their first refuge in the Gulf States.
Under these circumstances, it is very difficult to refuse these countries our military assistance. Moreover beggars cannot be choosers. We should extend all possible assistance in whatever way they have requested us. We should avoid stepping on the Yemeni soil but ensure the safety and security of Saudi Arabia at all costs.
