PESHAWAR: The Learning Awareness and Motivation Programme (LAMP), a non-government organisation, inaugurated a primary school in Lashora area of Khyber Agency with the assistance of the government of Japan on Wednesday.
The entire area was decorated with national flags of Japan and Pakistan and the school was declared “Children’s Peace Academy” in Jamrud tehsil. On the occasion, tribal elders, students and staff of the school chanted slogans in favour of Pakistani and Japanese governments.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shakeel Afridi inaugurated the school and later read out a brief statement of the ambassador of Japan wherein he reiterated to work for the welfare and prosperity of the tribal people by assisting construction of schools, drinking water projects and others.
