CHARSADDA: The police arrested three accused in the murder case of 10 members of a family in Piran area in Tangi tehsil of Charsadda district early this month, an official said on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters at his office here, District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan said though Gul Ahmed Said had been nominated for murdering his fiancee and her nine family members.
However, the official said, the investigation team constituted to probe the incident found that Gul Ahmed Said was not present at the time of the incident. “The team then questioned Lal Said, Muhammad Zaman and Sher Rehman, brothers of Gul Ahmed Said, on the basis of suspicion who confessed to have committed the murders,” he added.
They confessed that they had murdered Hazrat Jamal and his family as they claimed that their brother had killed his parents and brothers on the instigation of their uncle.
Hazrat Jamal, his wife Pari, four sons Shah Faisal, Shah Khalid, Irfan, Abu Bakr and four daughters Naveeda, Sumeera, Kulsoom and Fatima were killed on April 5.
The accused told reporters that they did not intend to eliminate the entire family. “We wanted to kill Hazrat Jamal, his wife and three children, including two elder sons and Naveeda.
They said that they also wanted to kill their brother but he was in hiding so they targetted his in-laws before he could be killed.
