Sallu sets the ball rolling for noble cause
ISLAMABAD: Former chief selector and advisor to chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Salahuddin Ahmed ‘Sallu’ has contributed Rs10,000 to the fund of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohamand dams.
Salu also called on the Pakistan cricket team members and former cricketers to come forward for the noble cause. “I would request all the former Test cricketers, Pakistan team members, domestic cricket players and PCB officials to come forward and donate to the fund.”
It may be pointed out here that Supreme Court Chief Justice Saqib Nisar earlier took the first step by announcing Rs one million donation for the cause.“Definitely there is greater need to preserve our water resources and for that we need to take these positive steps as early as possible,” Salu said.
“History is evident that whenever such requirements came, sportsmen stepped forward in a big way. I hope that this time again they would put in their share for the noble cause in a big way,” he said.He lauded Chief Justice’s initiative and said that the nation desperately required such steps.
