Two dacoits killed in Okara encounter

OKARA: Two dacoits were killed in an encounter with police here on Friday night.
Police received information that four dacoits were robbing the people of cash and valuables near Ladhewala village. Following the information, a police party led by Depalpur ASP Muhammad Bugti reached the spot. On seeing police, the dacoits hid in the fields and opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, two dacoits were killed on the spot while their accomplices managed to escape.
The killed dacoits were later identified as Arshad alias Rattoo, ringleader of Rattoo gang, and Sabir of Nehranwali village. Police recovered a Kalashnikov, a rifle and two motorcycles from the encounter site. Police have registered a case.
Man, son among three killed in accidents

OKARA: Three people, including a man and his son, were killed in two road accidents here on Saturday.
In the first incident, Maqbool and his son Zohaib were going to Chak 10/1-L when a speeding car hit their motorcycle, killing them on the spot. Renala Kurd Sadr police have registered a case and started investigation.
In the second incident, three friends – Irfan, Asad Munir and Shahid Munir – were racing on two motorcycles when a trailer hit them near Zaman Public Park. As a result, Irfan was killed on the spot while Asad and Shahid were injured seriously. The injured motorcyclists were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital in Lahore in a critical condition. Police are investigating.
