The University of Karachi’s board of advance studies and research (BASR) has awarded 19 PhD and 20 MPhil degrees in various disciplines.
The decision was made during a meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser, the university registrar said on Monday.
The MPhil degrees were awarded to Mumtaz Hussain (Chemistry HEJ), Khadija Siddiqui (Biotechnology), Hafiz Muhammad Sarfraz Nihal (Economics), Fahad Siddiqui (Pharmaceutics), Shahnaz Feroz Rashid (Mathematical Sciences), Zehra Akhtar (Mathematical Sciences), Rabia Shakir (Economics), Muhammad Asghar (Quran and Sunnah), Sidra Malik (Clinical Psychology), Muhammad Adeel (ISPA), Faiza Umer (Applied Economics AERC), Zulaikhan (Marine Biology), Sadaf Mehmood (Marine Biology), Syeda Ambreen Bukhari (Marine Biology), Rabail Gul (Marine Biology), Sarwat Jehan (Marine Biology), Saba Sattar (Pathology BMSI), Shahid Zafar (Pathology BMSI), Syed Mehmood Ishaque (Pathology BMSI), Ume Kalsoom (Pathology BMSI).
The PhD degrees were awarded to Suboohi Safdar (Statistics), Faiza Sarwar (Geography), Huma Fatima (Botany), Arfa Maqsood (Statistics), Fakhsheena Anjum (Pharmaceutics), Muhammad Kashif Sheikh (Islamic History), Safia Hassan (Marine Biology), Zeeshan Akhtar (Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology), Abid Arzoo Rashid (Botany), Qurrat-ul-Ain (Chemistry), Muneeba Khan (Botany), Naveed Iqbal (Chemistry HEJ), Samreen Begum (Chemistry), Shahla Tehseen (Political Science), Sumbul Azmat (Chemistry), Shahbir Ali Amir (Marine Biology),Nadia (Urdu), Dr Shazia Shakoor (MBBS Physiology), Dr Jawed Ahmed Badvi (MBBS Microbiology).
