This refers to the article ‘The Mumbai case’ by Shahzad Chaudhry (May 18). It is just not the former Indian foreign minister, Salman Khurshid, but also a number of neutral defence and security analysts who were absolutely clear that the state of Pakistan had nothing to do with the Mumbai tragedy. However the most unfortunate fact is that, through their doublespeak, some of our past rulers have made us appear unreliable in the comity of nations.
The crux of most of our bad image is a serious lack of credibility. As a first step, we need to restore our lost profile as a trustworthy nation, so that the world listens to and believes in what we say.
