Seven shops were gutted in a shoe market in Orangi Town when a fire broke out on Thursday. According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Fire Brigade officials, a shoe shop in Akhtar Market caught fire at around 9am.
They said that a fire engine was rushed to the site, but the blaze spread to six more surrounding shops. More fire trucks were dispatched and the fire was brought under control by 10:20am and put out by noon. Officials said five engines took part in the operation and seven shops were completely gutted. Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries was reported.
