ISLAMABAD: The federal government has asked the power distribution companies (Discos) not to carryout loadshedding from Iftar to Sehr time on all feeders.

However, for the remaining hours, the Discos may adjust their load management schedules accordingly. From Iftar to Sehr, the time is around 10 hours. To adjust the load management schedule for the remaining 14 hours, the government has now asked Discos to discontinue zero load shedding on feeders where losses are less than 10 percent. While in other slabs of loss making feeders, the power outages may be increased during these hours.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply from Iftar to Sehr time, the government has decided that during these hours, there would be no power supply on industrial feeders for nine hours and 30 minutes. This action has been taken to give more relief to the domestic consumers. This decision has been taken after mutual understanding with the industrial and business sector.

To this effect, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has released its schedule out loadshedding under which the feeders where the losses are less than 10 percent will faced increased outages from zero to a maximum 3.5 hours. Besides, feeders where the losses are 10 to 20 percent would face outages of four hours 30 minutes; 20 to 30 percent loss-making feeders will face five hours outages, while 30 to 40 percent loss-making feeders will face six hours loadshedding.

Besides, there would be seven hours loadshedding on those feeders where the losses are 40 to 60 percent. Feeders with 60 to 80 percent losses would face eight hours outages. Feeders where the losses are above 80 percent would face 11 hours loadshedding.
