KARACHI: Emerging Cricketers Academy overpowered Acme Technologies by seven wickets in the opening match of the 33rd Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Twenty20 here at the KG Cricket Ground on Wednesday.
Put into bat, Acme Technologies were restricted to 153 for five despite a sensational start provided by openers Tausiq Ahmed (61 off 38 balls) and Gulfam Nazir (31 off 28 balls). They scored 68 for the first wicket inside the power-play overs.
Off-spinner Umar Lohya pulled it back for Emerging Academy as he claimed three wickets for 34 runs. He was adjudged Man of the Match.Emerging Academy chased down the target with as many as four overs to spare. Opener Umair Yousuf guided the chase with an unbeaten 67 off 45 balls.
