Despite several claims by the KE authorities, the loadshedding situation in P&T Society, Korangi has gone from bad to worse. The authorities are not following any schedule for loadshedding. This means that power supply can be disrupted at any time for an unidentified period of time. KE asks residents to call at 118 for any query regarding power outage. However, representatives at the call centre do not have any satisfactory reply.
On Wednesday (May 16), I called the call centre and inquired about the timing of loadshedding. I was told that my area, P&T Society, doesn’t have any definite hours of loadshedding and power can go at any time. The representative also told me that the area can witness loadshedding for continuous five to six hours. This disturbing statement has caused a great deal of stress. Ramazan has already begun and we fear that if the current situation exists, it will add problems for those who fast during this holy month. While we understand that a great deal has to be done to make the city loadshedding-free, it will be helpful for residents if they know the exact timings of power outages so that we can carry out our work accordingly.
