MARDAN: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said on Tuesday that the government was taking steps to provide education facilities to the young generation.
He was speaking as chief guest at the closing ceremony of “Change making competition” programme arranged by the British Council and YES network at the Women University, Mardan. “The Women University is providing education facilities to girls and it will be a role model for other institutions,” he added.
Business skills were also imparted to the students through this programme. Women University Mardan Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ghazala Yasmeen also addressed the ceremony.
Jhagra said that educated women can play a better role in the development of the country. He added that government was providing education facilities to girls. The governor added that in the past there was only one university in the province but now several universities, medical colleges and engineering universities were providing education to the youth.
