UoS faculty works on display at Coopera Gallery
LAHORE: An interesting exhibition of paintings by the faculty members of Fine Arts Department, University of Sargodha, was opened at Coopera Art Gallery on Monday.
The title of the exhibition “Artists on Escalator of Success” brilliant young artists from this historic city of Pakistan, displayed their highly impressive skills.It was also a unique event in the world of Pakistani art because for the first time the works of Sargodha University’s Art students has been displayed in any exhibition of this magnitude out of Sargodha University.
This is the first time that faculty of UOS displayed their work under one roof in the city of Lahore. The artworks included paintings in oils, miniatures, weaved panels, digital art and photography representing five disciplines being taught in the university.
The artists painted various social and cultural issues of life in their five dozens of vibrant artworks in an intriguing manner showing high skill in different style and medium. Prof Dr Shaukat Mahmood (Maxim Cartoonist), Coordinator of PhD Programme of College of Art and Design, Punjab University, inaugurated the exhibition at 4PM on Monday. Large number of artists and art lovers were present at the inaugural ceremony and appreciated the efforts of the faculty members of Fine Arts Department, UOS.
The artists who participated in the exhibition are: Ahmed Faraz, Abid Husain Qureshi, Ayesha Ahmed, Iram Shaheen, Maryam Saif, Muhammad Ali, Nimra Muzaffar, Nadeem Afraz Ch, Nadia Abbasi, Rabiha Subhani Khan, Saba Akram, Saba Islam, Sadia Noreen, Shaheera Aslam, Ulfat Yasmeen, Wajiha Rafique, Haris Ali Mirza, Zenab Yasmeen. The exhibition will remain open till May 15 from 10am to 6pm except holidays.
