HAFIZABAD: A shepherd died when he was struck by lightning at Sakhi village on Sunday.
Zeeshan Haider (16) was taking his cattle when the incident took place. He died before reaching a hospital. Meanwhile, Hafizabad and its adjoining villages received heavy rain, which destroyed standing wheat crop.
APP adds from Faisalabad, Chiniot: Two people were killed and a girl sustained injuries due to lightning during rain in Faisalabad and Chiniot districts. A police spokesman said that Muhammad Ali was riding a motorcycle when lightning hit him near China Camp Chowk, Faisalabad, killing him on the spot. In another incident, lightning hit a house at Chak 211/JB, Chiniot. As a result, a boy, Sanaullah, was killed on the spot while his 25-year-old sister Aasia received serious burns. She was shifted to the Lalian Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital.
