The physical remand of five workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movemet (MQM), arrested by Rangers on March 11, was extended by 14 days by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday.
Detainees, Shakeel, Javed, Amir, Mehmood and Abid were brought to the court amid heavy security.
The court was informed that Shakeel was involved in two murder cases registered with the Bazaar police station as well as in a case pertaining to possession of explosive materials and illegal weapons registered with the Federal B Area police station.
The remaining detainees were also said to be involved in several cases but further interrogation was required.
Earlier, remands of eight workers of the MQM were also extended by the ATC.
