Over 6,000 graduated in UOL’s 8th convocation

LAHORE: Degrees, gold medals and awards were conferred upon as many as 6000+ graduates in the 8th (University of Lahore (UOL) Convocation held today at the Main campus of the University of Lahore, Lahore.

The ceremony was marked with deep appreciation from teachers, parents, and friends, high motivation by the Mr. Awais Raoof (Chairman BOG-UOL), Mr. M.A Raoof (Patron IET), Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran (Rector-UOL), Brig (R) Mr. Ajaib (Member BOG) catching eye of the corporate sector, patronage by the Chancellor and best wishes for the future. The number of UOL alumni after this convocation has reached 27,000+ with 37,500+ existing students.

Total 6103 graduate consisting 3094 Bachelors, 1626 Masters, 1367 Postgraduate and 16 PhDs were awarded to the students of UOL’s different schools and institutes. 188 Gold Medals Awards for Exceptional Academic Excellence and prizes were given to the toppers this year.

In his inaugural speech, Chairman BOG UOL Mr. Awais Raoof welcomed the guests and congratulated the graduates and their parents.

He said that UOL had started its journey of knowledge in 1999 and today it has made a name for itself because of its groundbreaking research and quality education. Mr. Awais Raoof termed UOL students as ‘global graduates’ who met all requirements found in the students of European and American universities.

The Chairman BOG mentioned successful range of various conferences recently held at the University premises and the national level on the themes of Health Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Information Technology, Biotechnology, business, management, economics, Islamic Studies, Pharmacy, Physics and mathematics. He also mentioned about UOL’s professors who had nominated as best “Young Productive Scientist” Dr.Imran Hameed by HEC Pakistan and” Prof. Dr. Arif Malik by the Council for Science and Technology Pakistan. Mr. Awais Raoof emphasized the graduates not to stop the process of learning throughout their lives.***
