Traffic violations

LAHORE: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) took action against 570 violators of traffic rules. PHP also impounded 57 motorbikes on using fake registration. They arrested 13 drunks for riotious behavour. The accused were identified as Nabeel Ahmad, Waheed Iqbal, Shahid Zubair, Ahmad, Hassan Bakhsh, Muhammad Shafiq, Yaseen, Shahid Akhtar, Shahid Hussain, Abdul Ghafar, Ramazan, Tariq, Jamshaid Afzal. A bike rider was arrested on charges of wheelie-doing. PHP arrested 52 accused of fixing prohibited gas slenders in vehicles. Five beggars were also arrested.

road accidents: At least 794 road accidents were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Punjab Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 from all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Nine people were killed and 549 badly injured in the road accidents. The injured were removed to hospitals. However, some 346 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were given first aid by the emergency medical teams.
