ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah Wednesday said judges would have been still in the jails had Benazir Bhutto not make the NRO. “Benazir Bhutto made a political NRO for restoration of democracy in the country, which paved the way of return of politicians into the country and saved the judges,” he said while talking to media persons at the Parliament House. Khursheed Shah was referring to the Supreme Court summons to former president Asif Ali Zardari in the NRO case. The opposition leader said Asif Ali Zardari has nothing to do with the NRO. To a question whether disgruntled PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali will join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the opposition leader said he doesn’t think so. About the statement of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif in which he regretted that he should have amended the NAB laws, the opposition leader said now the matter of amendments in NAB laws will be considered by the new Parliament after the general elections.
