Strict action against traffic rules violators ordered
LAHORE: Zero-tolerance would be adopted to curb One-Way violation and wrong parking. Wrong Parking is a major cause behind a traffic mess while One-Way violation causes traffic accidents. Strict action will be taken against the violators.
Chief Traffic Officer expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at Qurban Police Lines to streamline the traffic management during the month of Ramazan. SP Traffic Saddar, Sardar Asif, SP Traffic City Asif Siddique, DSP Gulberg, Munir Ahmad, all the circle officers and sector in-charges attended the meeting.
A discussion was observed during the meeting regarding the betterment of traffic management. The meeting also decided that violators would be dealt with iron hands. The CTO ordered the participants to adopt a strategy to involve colleges, universities, trade unions, transporters and all the other stake-holders in traffic management. He directed to install banners at markets, bazaars, and one-way points for the awareness of masses.
Rai Ijaz said on the occasion that One-Way violation caused traffic accidents. One-Way violators not only put their life in danger but other road users as well. A minor mistake can lead to a big loss, he added. Safe and sound journey is the first preference of Traffic Police. Respect the right of way, share roads, every road user has equal right of way on roads. He said that wrong parking disrespects the right of way of other road users and One-Way violation is equal to commit suicide. Islam teaches us to respect the right of way. We will have to work together for accident-free society.
