Disgruntled PML-N MNAs didn’t show up to verify resignations
ISLAMABAD: Four disgruntled PML-N Members of National Assembly from South Punjab, who sent their resignation after announcing to leave the ruling party, once again failed to appear before Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday for verification of their resignations.
Ayaz Sadiq had summoned Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar, Tahir Bashir Cheema, Rana Qasim Noon and Makhdoomzada Basit Bokhari for verification on the genuineness and voluntary submission of their resignations. These four lawmakers announced resignations from National Assembly and PML-N early this month in a press conference.
The speaker invited them to verify the genuineness of their resignations on Monday, but they did not turn up due to which they were again invited on Friday in the speaker’s office, but they again failed to appear. Now the speaker has again summoned them on Tuesday for verification purpose.
Meanwhile, the speaker accepted the resignation of Rana Qasim Noon as Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Privileges. The speaker’s office says it was mandatory that a member who resigned from his seat should himself verify the genuineness and voluntary submission of resignations.
