Private schools announce strike in KP
Bureau report
PESHAWAR: The private schools on Friday announced strike against the KP Private Schools Regulatory Authority (KP-PSRA). Talking to The News, Hub of Private Education (HOPE) Peshawar President, Wasifullah, said the PSRA's laws were beyond comprehension.
He said private schools would welcome reforms, but damaging the education sector in the name of reforms was unacceptable. He asked the government to categorise the institutions. The schools charging highest fee should give highest discount while the ones charging lowest fee should not be forced to give discount, he added.
"Demanding of a school that provides quality education in a rural area at Rs1,000 a month to give discount to four or five siblings is not feasible," he said, adding that such laws would force owners to close their schools.
