‘Tree plantation drive launched’

LAHORE: Lahore Deputy Commissioner Sumair Ahmed Syed Thursday inaugurated tree plantation drive by planting a tree in the premises of DC office.
A special ceremony was held in DC office in this regard. The ADCR, ADC (G), ADC (headquarters) and officials of forest department Punjab attended the ceremony. The officer of forest department briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the plantation drive.
Sumair said some two lakh plants of various types would be planted in schools of the city under smog mitigation campaign. More than thirty thousand plants would be provided to each zone of the city for plantation, he said. He also appealed the citizens to plant plants in their homes to minimise the pollution.
