Karachi industrialists call off strike
KARACHI: Industrialists of the city on Thursday called off their strike against power and water crisis after the Prime Minister office assured them to resolve the issue, a spokesman for the industrialists said.
“As an outcome of the telephonic discussions with Fawad Hasan Fawad, secretary to the prime minister, the strike has been called off,” the spokesman said.
During the discussion,the secretary has asked Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, coordinator of the Karachi Industrial Forum to call off strike,” the spokesman added.
The secretary also said the federal government has taken notice of power and water crisis in Karachi and assured the businessmen of resolving their problems on priority.
Presidents of all town and industrial associations have agreed to call off strike and thanked the federal government for timely intervention in the matter.
