Laurent Fabius, French minister for foreign affairs and international development, along with world-renowned three-star Michelin chef Alain Ducasse, officially launched the “Goût de France/Good France” project on Saturday.
A committee of international chefs, led by Alain Ducasse, after reviewing menus proposed by restaurants all over the world, selected and unveiled the final list of restaurants participating in “Goût de France/Good France”, according to a statement issued the French consulate general in Karachi.
On March 19, in 150 countries on all five continents, selected, leading restaurants offered 1,500 dinners to celebrate the event by inviting the public to share a “French style dinner”.
In each participating restaurant, the event paid tribute to a vibrant, open and innovative cuisine, while remaining true to its values.
Among the finalists, Café Flo, Karachi, offered a traditional five-course “French-style dinner” with a cold starter (Chilled cucumber shot), a hot starter (Trio de foie gras/Seafood ravioles), fish (Charcoal grilled red snapper with shrimp and calamari), meat (Chateaubriand Rossini), and a chocolate dessert (Chocolate fondant on strawberries bed).
The gastronomic event was a runaway success, more than 140 gourmets relished the culinary delights skilfully prepared by Flo’s “Kitchen cabinet” led by chefs Ejaz and Azhar!
