Irfan helps Multan crush AJK
ISLAMABAD: Multan turned the table on AJK as after conceding first innings lead, they bowled out tourists for just 33 in the second innings, achieving victory by seven wickets in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade II match at the Multan Stadium on Tuesday.
After handing over slender 16 runs first innings lead, Multan bowlers led by Mohammad Ifran (5-18) bowled out AJK for just 33 in the second. Multan hit up the winning target of 50 for the loss of three wickets.
Scores in brief: At Multan Stadium: AJK 235 in 80.1 overs (Hasan Raza 125, Abdul Shakoor 36; Zulfiqar Babar 5-60, Ahsan Baig 3-46, Mohammad Irfan 2-24) and 33 all out in 20 overs (Muhammad Irfan 5-18). Multan Region 219 all out in 63.5 overs (Zulfiqar Babar 58 not out, Kashif Naveed 49; Daniyal Allah Ditta 4-53) and 50-3 in 7.1 overs (Sohaib Maqsood 30, Daniyal Allah Ditta 2-19). Result: Multan Region won by 7 wickets.
