Islamabad: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has imposed a Higher Secondary School Certificate science course admission restriction.
An autonomous body prescribing courses of instructions for SSC and HSSC and hold exams, the FBISE has closed the door on the admission of the boys and girls with humanities group Secondary School Certificate degrees to the HSSC science courses.
The move comes in line with the February 2018 decision of the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen, which is tasked with coordinating activities of the nationwide education boards, ensuring uniform academic, evaluation and curricular standards, and promoting curricular and co-curricular activities on inter- board basis.
According to a notification issued by FBISE Director (Research) Zulfiqar Ali Rizvi, the students passing SSC examinations in humanities groups will not be eligible for admission in science group at the HSSC level. The restriction has taken effect immediately.
