Ngidi to fly back home after father’s death

MUMBAI: Lungi Ngidi, the Chennai Super Kings pacer, is travelling back to South Africa following the passing away of his father, Cricket South Africa confirmed on Saturday. Jerome Ngidi, the father of Lungi, expired at a KwaZulu-Natal hospital on Friday. The young fast bowler, who bagged a six-wicket haul on his Test debut against India, was picked up by the Chennai franchise for a base price of INR 50 lakh in the 2018 IPL Auction. The South African speedster wasn’t selected for either of Chennai’s first two matches of the ongoing season. Ngidi has played three Tests, four ODIs and three T20Is for South Africa so far.
