Islamabad to host National Netball C’ship
LAHORE: The 17th National Men and Women Netball Championships 2018 will be held next month at Islamabad in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
Mudassar Razak Arain, President PNF, informed that the Federation is organizing the event at Hamidi Hall, PSB Complex, Islamabad from May 4 to 7. The teams including Army, Wapda, Air Force, Navy, Police, Railway, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Baluchistan, KPK, Gilgit, Sindh, Punjab, Islamabad, Fata and Azad Jamu Kashmir (AJK) will take part in this mega event.
Army (Men) and Sindh (Women) are the defending champions. PNF will award the trophies, medals, certificates and cash prizes among the position holders teams, he added. The top five teams will qualify and will be eligible for 33rd National Games 2018 and one host team will also be eligible to take part.
Capt (retd) Zafar Iqbal Awan, Chairman PNF has approved the Rules & Technical Committee for this mega event and supervise all technical matter in this regard. Malik Sameen Khan (Chairman) with Col (retd) Ghulam Murtaza, Muhammad Rizwan, Syed Toqeer Ahmed, Anwar Ahmed Ansari, Ajaz ul Haque and Muhammad Riaz (Secretary) are the members.
He further informed that the PNF will also select the men & women players for International Competitions like Asian Women Netball Championship 2018 at Singapore in the last week of August 2018, AAMMNA Netball Championship 2018 at Melbourne, Australia in the month December 2018 and Asian Netball Umpiring Course 2018 at Singapore in July 2018.
