IIUI president’s appointment challenged
ISLAMABAD: Justice Athar Minallah of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here on Friday issued notices to the respondent where a petitioner challenged the appointment of President of Islamic International University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr Ahmad Yousaf Al-Draiweesh being ineligible and in violation of the rules.
Petitioner Sajid Mehmood Shad has nominated President of Pakistan being Chancellor/Chairman Board of Trustees IIUI through Principal Secretary, Rector IIUI, IIUI through its president, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Dr Ahmad Yousaf Al-Draiweesh as respondents. Petitioner contended that IIUI president is a tenure post of 4 years where Draiweesh has been serving since 2012.
