NAB board authorises inquiry against CDA officials

ISLAMABAD: The Regional Board of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi/Islamabad Friday authorised inquiry against officers/ officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and others as the accused while misusing their authority illegally converted clinical plot situated in Rana Market F-7/2 into commercial plot causing loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.

The NAB Regional Board Meeting (RBM) was held with its Director General Irfan Naeem Mangi in the chair at NAB Rawalpindi. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prosecutor General Accountability, Directors, case officers, legal consultants and other officers concerned. The board authorised an investigation against Najam Ud Din S/o Feroz Ud Din and others as during the inquiry, it transpired that the accused persons induced public at large by collecting huge amount of money from them in the name of Modaraba and misappropriated the same. It is established during the inquiry that accused looted the general public on the Modaraba business against attractive profit.

The Regional Board of NAB Rawalpindi authorised an inquiry against Adnan Ahmad Lohani, Assistant Director, FIA, Islamabad regarding assets disproportionate to his known sources. The said accused has acquired assets through corruption/bribe which is disproportionate to his known sources of income.

In the third inquiry, the Board also authorised inquiry against officers/officials of CDA and others as the accused while misusing their authority illegally converted clinical plot situated at Sector F-8 Islamabad into commercial plot, causing loss of millions to the national exchequer.

On the conclusion of the meeting, the Director-General appealed to the general public to join hands with NAB for the eradication of corruption.
