No conflict if all talk about Constitution, says Achakzai
ISLAMABAD: The Pakhtunkh wa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mehmood Aachakzai congratulated Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on his statement that he would not let martial law to be imposed, saying that there would be no conflict when all talk about Constitution.
While talking to the media outside the Accountability Court where he had come to show solidarity with Nawaz Sharif, he said they are standing with Pakistan that was a voluntary Federation, established by the Constitution. “No one is master and no one is slave here in this country,” he said.
Achakzai said there are three type of oaths in this country. A politician takes oath that he would uphold the constitution. A judge takes oath that he would defend the Constitution and an Army officer takes the oath that he would not interfere into the politics.
Achakzai requested the CJP to take oaths from all the three to remind them of their specific purpose defined in the Constitution. Whichever institution goes beyond its jurisdiction whether judiciary in the name of activism or the army, they have to stand against them. Whenever the constitution is violated, every Pakistani should come to the roads to protect it, he said.
Earlier while talking to this correspondent, Achakzai said that every democrat should support the Pakhtun Tahaffuz Movement as there has been immense blood loss and suffering from Swat to Balochistan.
Meanwhile, Hasil Khan Bizenjo said they have come to express solidarity with Mian Nawaz Sharif. He said the people like him, Mehmood Achakzai, Asfandyar Wali are protecting of democracy, rule of law and protection of the rights of the smaller provinces.
“We all have struggled for many years for this cause and now when Mian Nawaz Sharif bore the same flag, we have come to express our solidarity with him. Now, it is time that the majority of Punjab may decide who would rule this country and whether or not democracy, rule of law and rights of the people will be safeguarded in this country. Bizenjo condemned the act of putting Geo News off-air and said no media channel could be blocked.
