GHOTKI: Four dacoits were killed in an encounter near the Roshni area of Ghotki, said Rahim Yar Khan Police here on Wednesday.
Police said that six dacoits tried to escape after snatching a motorbike, near the Ahmed Pur area of Rahim Yar Khan while the police pursuing them entered into the Roshni area of Ghotki and informed the Roshni police. On receiving information, a joint operation of Sindh and Punjab police conducted an operation during which four criminals were killed on the spot. A snatched motorbike, a Kalashnikov and two rifles were recovered.
The bodies of dacoits were shifted to the Tehsil Hospital, Obaro. According to the ID card found in one of the deceased’s pocket, he was identified as Muhammad Fayaz, hailing from the Bahawalpur area. Meanwhile, police parties were looking for the two dacoits who escaped.
