Fida scores hat-trick as HXL thrash Hilal Foods

KARACHI: Fida Haji scored a brilliant hat-trick to help Hyundai Xteer Lubricants record a 6-0 victory against Hilal Foods on the opening day of Leisure Leagues Corporate League here at Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy.

Hafee Raz, Nasir Haji and Kareem Haji scored one goal each for HXL. Earlier in the day, HXL had lost their match against hosts Leisure Leagues by 2-1. Razik Mushtaq scored both goals for the winning team, while Fida scored one.

The tournament opener between Karachi United Football Foundation (KUFF) and Hilal Foods ended in a goalless draw.Later KUFF thrashed Wonder Works 5-0. Mohammad Abrar scored a brilliant hat-trick, while Noor Ali scored two goals.

The eight participating teams are MS Packages, Wonder Works, Hyundai, Coca Cola, KUFF, PSO, Joga Bonito and Hilal Foods. The tournament is being played on single league basis — each team playing a match against all others.

The top four teams will qualify for semi-finals. A total of 31 matches will be played. The league matches will be played on Saturdays. The semi-finals and final will be played on Sunday next month.
