Drowned in poverty
April 01, 2018
According to an survey conducted by the government, poverty in the country has increased from 30 percent to 40 percent during the past decade. We can only imagine what life is like for 40 percent of the population who live below the poverty line. In today’s world where prices of even essential commodities are soaring, the poor find it difficult to survive.
The government has to take relevant measures to counter widespread poverty. We need to create a society, which is not deeply divided in different social and economic classes. We need to address the imbalance that has existed in our society since time immemorial. Only then can we tackle poverty and uplift the standard of living of large numbers of people.
