Kasur police impose ‘restrictions’ on missing kid’s relatives
KASUR: Kasur police are still clueless about whereabouts of two missing kids. Few days ago, kid Faiq was abducted from the city and Adnan, 12, from Khudian. The father of Faiq approached the police for the recovery of his son but police have failed so far to trace the child. The family of Faiq wanted to protest against the police failure but police stopped them from launching the protest. Faiq’s uncle Muhammad Sarwar, who is an operational manager of a bank told reporters relatives of Faiq were planning to launch a protest against police, but some policemen visited his bank and confined him there. He said the police also restricted movement of his relatives Shahazad, Ghulam Hussain, Inayat and others after Friday prayer. Reportedly, some cops in plain clothes are deployed outside the house of Faiq and they are stopping locals from attending the planned protest. Talking to reporters, Mehr Imtiaz Riaz advocate and members of different political parties have condemned the ‘house arrest’ of family members of Faiq. When contacted, Kasur police spokesman denies allegations. Meanwhile, a religio-political party took out a rally against Kasur police for their failure to recover the missing kid. The rally started from Steel Bagh Chowk and reached the house of Faiq. Addressing the participants, Mian Farooq Ansari said incidents of abduction and assault on children were rising in Kasur due to negligence of Kasur police. He condemned the restriction on the movement of family members of Faiq. The participants appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the abduction of children in Kasur.
