CJ takes notice of death in encounter
LAHORE : Two protest demonstrations were staged in City on Saturday against police for their alleged corruption and brutality.
The first protest was observed in front of Supreme Court Lahore Registry. The protesters chanted slogans against Gujranwala police for killing their relative in an alleged police encounter. The chief justice of Pakistan, who was on his way back, stepped out of his car and asked the protesters to appear before him at 11am on Sunday.
The second protest demonstration was also observed against Shahdara police. According to a protester, Muhammad Saghir, Shahdara police were trying to declare the accused, Munsha, involved in his daughter rape innocent. He demanded of the Punjab chief minister look into the matter and direct the police to conduct fair investigation.
