LAHORE: Inter-University Performing Arts Festival on the theme of “Psychology of Religion and Culture” was held at Government College University (GCU) on Thursday as a part of on-going Mental Health Week celebrations.
Students from various universities staged plays and mimes and highlighted role of spirituality in the mental health recovery and wellness of humanity. They also depicted cultural conflicts present in society.
Punjab University students presented a play titled “Religion and Cultural Crisis”, which highlighted the conflicts among different cultural and religious groups.
The festival was started with a mime performance by GCU Department of Psychology titled “Gorakh Dhandha”, which depicted the concept of Sufism, the quest for the divine and its manifestation in various cultures. The students of GCU also staged an adaptation of eminent writer Ashfaq Ahmed’s play “Saeen Aur Psychiatrist”.
